Our vision and approach

The period surrounding pregnancy, birth and the few weeks that follow is something that you experience only once or a few times in your life. Our experienced team of midwives focus on you and your partner during this period. We believe our work is to facilitate and manage this basically healthy process. Our care is based on the latest findings and most recent professional guidelines and we take your personal wishes into account.

Getting pregnant

If you are not yet, but wish to become, pregnant you and your partner are welcome for a preconception consultation. We take a look at your health and provide comprehensive information, perhaps even improving the conditions at conception and having a positive effect on your and your future baby’s health.

Pregnancy

Hooray, you’re pregnant! Your body and your life are going through lots of changes. We are happy to guide you from the moment you become pregnant. We let you and your partner know what you can expect and what you need to arrange. We provide information about prenatal screening if desired. We also want to hear about your needs for the coming period.

Labour and delivery

We give you extensive information in the time leading up to the birth. How do you prepare yourselves for this event? Will you give birth at home or in hospital? We want to hear your ideas and personal wishes. In our videos, at your check-up appointments and Centering Pregnancy meetings we will discuss all the ins and outs. At a check-up appointment you receive information about when to call.

Maternity

Your baby is here! It’s the beginning of a special and dynamic time. You need rest to recover and to adjust to the new situation. We guide you through this, together with the postpartum assistant. The postpartum assistant helps you with caring for the baby and with feedings. Together we check to make sure everything progresses normally. We also provide services to women who were under the care of a gynaecologist during pregnancy and birth.
